This policy explains what information is collected when you visit this site, subscribe to emails, or buy something, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who runs this site
This site and the brand The Unforgettable Self are operated by Azara Abun. For any question about your data, including requests to see it or delete it, write to azara@azaraabun.com and you will get a reply from a person.
What is collected
- Your email address and first name, if you subscribe. Nothing else is required.
- Email engagement — whether a message was opened and which links were clicked. This is used to understand what is worth writing about.
- Purchase information, if you buy. Payment details are entered on the payment provider's own checkout and are never seen or stored here.
- Basic site analytics, if analytics are enabled, in aggregate form.
Who processes it
A small number of third-party services handle data on behalf of this site, each under their own privacy policy:
- Kit stores the email list and sends the newsletter.
- Stripe processes payments. For digital purchases Stripe acts as merchant of record, meaning Stripe is the seller of record for the transaction.
- Skool hosts the community and holds the account details of members.
- Google Workspace handles email correspondence.
Your data is never sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared with advertisers.
Why it is kept
Email addresses are kept to send the newsletter you asked for. Purchase records are kept because tax law requires them to be retained for a set period. Nothing is kept longer than it needs to be.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to its processing. Email the address above and the request will be handled within one month.
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every message. It works immediately and no follow-up email is sent.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Payment and community pages hosted by Stripe and Skool set their own cookies required for those services to work.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes and subscribers are told by email.
